Simply Her gets a brand new look, with more stories and more pages

Singapore, 19 August 2010 – Simply Her, a publication of SPH Magazines Pte Ltd (“SPH Magazines”) is proud to unveil its new look, when its September issue hits newsstands today.

In its first major revamp since its launch in November 2004, Simply Her now features a refreshed cover with a new masthead and fonts, and a new layout which allows time-strapped readers easier access to stories chock-full of smart and useful solutions for every aspect of their lives.

The magazine is now 25 per cent thicker, with more stories in the Fashion, Beauty, Smart Shopper and Bookends sections, plus more feature stories. Readers’ favourites such as Get List and Solutions have been fine-tuned to include more great shopping finds and tips.

In addition, new sections and columns have also been added:

  1. Life Made Easy: A section focusing on everything the Simply Her reader needs to simplify her life, from work, self-development and money to sex, relationships and health. Stories are presented in an easy-to-read, bite-sized format.

  2. Home & Kids: A section to help the working woman deal with issues relating to her home and family. It features easy family recipes that her kids will eat, restaurant reviews, plus our signature Cheat Feed and Cooking Class recipes, and the Taste Test.

  3. Workshop: Found in both the Fashion and Beauty sections, it helps readers figure out the ins and outs of a particular fashion or beauty trend, solves their conundrums, offers useful how-to tips and tells them what to buy.

  4. Wardrobe Workout: We find the missing link in a reader’s wardrobe, and introduce an investment piece she can buy that works with almost everything she owns.

  5. Team About Town: The events and places that the Simply Her team has been to in the past month, with gossipy, personal accounts from the writer and editors.

The new Simply Her aims to have a deeper connection with readers while still keeping to its DNA – a magazine catering to busy, working women, with useful, practical and real solutions to help juggle the different aspects of their lives.

The September issue highlights real-life stories such as women sharing about their frustrations and desperation in trying to conceive, and one woman’s experience with near blindness from conjunctivitis. Other features include solutions to deal with awkward family situations, the virtual affair and how easy it is to fall into it, and great finds beyond food in Tiong Bahru.

Penelope Chan, Editor of Simply Her, said: “We’ve brought a sense of sharing into our stories, showcasing more readers in our makeovers and real-life stories. We’re asking readers to test products, and we want to know about their coping strategies at work and at home, fashion and beauty tips, time-saving tricks and tried-and-trusted recipes.”

Irene Tan, General Manager of SPH Magazines, said: “Simply Her has grown from strength to strength over the years. With this revamp, Simply Her will continue to win the hearts of loyal readers and attract new readers with its strong editorial line-up, adding more values to its advertisers and partners.”

To celebrate its new look, Simply Her is offering its readers free coffee from Spinelli and a free Renew Certified 100% Organic Rose Hip Oil and Renew Hydrating Mist worth $46.20, while stocks last. Readers also enjoy 10 per cent off food treats from Barracks at House, 20 per cent off a Haagen Dazs Autumn Celebration creation, 20 per cent off a Baumkuchen cake at Patisserie Glace, and 20 per cent off a choice of pizza at Skinny Pizza. Plus, readers who present the cover card at Metro or Robinsons get to enjoy 20 per cent off selected Perricone MD, Strivectin and ZO Skin Health products.
