The Clementi Mall to Obtain TOP in early January 2011

Singapore, 30 December 2010 - The Clementi Mall is on track to obtain its first Temporary Occupancy Permit (TOP) in early January 2011. Residents in Clementi and the neighbouring estates can do their festive shopping at the new suburban mall when FairPrice Finest and some of the eateries at Level 1 and Basement 1 open their doors from mid-January 2011 onwards.

Besides FairPrice Finest, The Clementi Mall has also secured BHG, a leading department store in Singapore, as an anchor tenant. The department store will open on Level 3 within the next couple of months.

Ms Serene Tan, Director of BHG, said, "We are very excited to be one of the anchor tenants at The Clementi Mall. This marks our fifth BHG store in Singapore and it ties in well with our expansion plans. Occupying over 11,000 square feet with fashion, beauty and lifestyle offerings from international to local brands, we believe that shoppers in the area will be spoilt for choice as they are provided with even more retail options at our new outlet."

Come mid-January, familiar eateries such Old Chang Kee, Four Seasons Durians, Ho Kee Pau, Each-A-Cup, Bee Cheng Hiang, Mr Bean, Shihlin Taiwan Street Snacks, Yami Yogurt, Sticky Rice, BreadTalk / ToastBox, Polar Puffs & Cakes and Bengawan Solo will open at Basement One and Level One.

Diners can also look forward to dining at Ajisen Ramen, Burger King, KFC and Long John Silver's. McDonald's duplex outlet, with a floor space of about 5,000 square feet, is scheduled to open by Chinese New Year.

The mall will obtain its second TOP in mid-March 2011. Those into IT products and peripherals will be able to find a wide selection at Challenger on Level 4. Best Denki, which will have a dedicated section for Apple products and occupies approximately 5,500 square feet on the same level, will provide a one-stop solution to those shopping for electronic products. Both Challenger and Best Denki, together with Foodfare on Level 4 and the Clementi Public Library on Level 5, will open their doors progressively in the first half of 2011.

"We are getting many positive responses and interests from retailers for shop space at The Clementi Mall. To date, 85 per cent of the retail space has been taken up. We expect full tenancy commitment when the mall officially opens in end May 2011. We are confident that The Clementi Mall will bring about more retail accessibility and options, especially for residents and shoppers in Clementi and its vicinity," said Mrs Linda Kwan, General Manager of CM Domain, which owns The Clementi Mall.

Located at Clementi Town Centre, The Clementi Mall is a six-storey retail development totalling approximately 190,000 square feet of retail space, which includes a basement shopping level and a basement carpark with about 160 carpark lots. Upon completion, it will be linked directly to the Clementi MRT station on the third storey and subsequently, the bus interchange, on the first level.

With its strategic location in Clementi town and accessibility to integrated transport amenities, The Clementi Mall is poised to be an anchor attraction in the area. Positioned as a contemporary and mid-market mall, The Clementi Mall will enjoy a good catchment from Holland Village, Bukit Timah and West Coast, where key tertiary institutions such as National University of Singapore, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Singapore Polytechnic, and UniSIM are located.
