3,500 runners to tackle the fifth edition of Men's Health Urbanathlon, Singapore's toughest urban obstacle race

Singapore, 25 February 2014 — On 2 March (Sunday), 3,500 eager runners will take on Singapore’s most grueling urban obstacle race. The Men's Health Urbanathlon 2014 will be bigger, better, and tougher than its previous iterations, and features five new and upgraded obstacles along a 14km course that runs through the heart of the island’s central business district.

With brand new obstacles like Leap of Faith, Peaks and Troughs, Balance Sheet, Curve Analysis and Wire House, all Urbanathletes will need to dig deep into their physical and mental reserves to conquer this contest. (See Fact Sheet for full descriptions of obstacles).

The highlight of this year’s race will be the new Mystery Obstacle, which will test participants’ five senses like no other race. Marking the first time such a challenge has been introduced, participants will have to wait until the very day of the run to find out what awaits them.

This year’s competition will also see participants receiving a race pack worth over $400, including an Adidas race T-Shirt and a complimentary six month digital subscription to Men’s Health.

Mystery Obstacle looming large

Several local celebrities will also be taking part in the Urbanathlon, as well as elite athletes such as Anne Qi Hui, parathlete Mohd Shariff Abdullah, Singapore’s very own “Blade Runner”, as well as Team Singapura Everest, which consists of seven Singaporeans aiming to scale Everest in 2015, in conjunction with our nation’s 50th independence anniversary.
