Singapore, 10 October 2014 - Singapore Press Holdings’ (SPH) “See the Big Picture” campaign won the Silver Awards in the Best Consumer Event, Best Exhibition Event and Best Multi-Channel Campaign categories at the Marketing Events Awards tonight at W Hotel Sentosa.The “See the Big Picture” campaign is part of SPH's 30th anniversary celebrations this year. SPH commissioned British artist and autistic savant Stephen Wiltshire to sketch the panoramic cityscape of Singapore in Paragon from memory after a short helicopter ride. The event attracted over 150,000 visitors in five days in July.In addition to the planned advertising schedules, content was created daily during Mr Wiltshire’s stay to create media buzz and photo opportunities across multiple SPH-owned platforms. SPH also invited Dr Tony Tan Keng Yam, President of Singapore, HE Antony Phillipson, British High Commissioner, Mr Lawrence Wong, Minister of Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, Ms Denise Phua, Mayor of Central Singapore CDC, as well as special needs and underprivileged children from Pathlight School, Little Arts Academy and Very Special Arts to the event.On September 9, the 4m X 1m Singapore panorama was presented to President Tony Tan as SPH's gift to the nation for Singapore's 50th birthday next year. The artwork is permanently on display at URA’s Singapore City Gallery. Replicas of the Singapore panoramic artwork were also sold and raised $220,000 for President's Challenge 2014 to benefit 64 charity organisations. As part of SPH's active corporate citizenry, SPH has given merchandising rights of Mr Wiltshire's Singapore skyline artwork to Pathlight School. Pathlight, the first autism-focused school in Singapore that offers a unique blend of mainstream academic curriculum and life readiness skills, has produced exclusive prints and unique merchandise adapted from the artwork. The products, which include postcards, lacquerware and notebooks are on sale at the school's Pathlight Mall. Events and Out-of-Home Advertising
SPH’s events arm Sphere Exhibits organises innovative consumer and trade events and exhibitions as well as large scale conferences in Singapore and the region. In addition, SPH has ventured into out-of-home (OOH) advertising through its digital out-of-home platform SPHMBO.
SPH REIT is a Singapore-based REIT established principally to invest, directly or indirectly, in a portfolio of income-producing real estate which is used primarily for retail purposes in Asia-Pacific, as well as real estate-related assets. SPH REIT is managed by SPH REIT Management Pte. Ltd., which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Singapore Press Holdings Limited.
The initial portfolio of SPH REIT comprises the following two high quality and well located commercial properties in Singapore:
· Paragon, a premier upscale retail mall and medical suite/office property, well known for its upscale mall housing many luxury brands, located in the heart of Orchard Road; and
