SPH websites are a hit with advertisers and marketers


Digital Media of the Year survey showed that marketers prefer SPH and SPH Magazines' websites to reach their target audience 

Singapore, 29 December 2014 – Singapore Press Holdings' (SPH) websites are the preferred choices of advertisers when planning their digital media campaigns, according to the recently released results of the Digital Media of the Year survey by trade magazine Marketing. 

Marketing’s research arm polled a total of 700 industry professionals in this survey. Nearly 87 per cent of client-advertiser respondents were manager-level decision makers and above with 10 per cent from the most senior ranks. Advertisers from major banks, FMCG companies, property and construction, IT and telecommunications firms, as well as travel and tourism companiesparticipated in the survey. 

Websites of SPH and its wholly-owned subsidiary 
SPH Magazines Pte Ltd (SPH Magazines) did well in the survey. In particular, SPH and SPH Magazines’ websites were ranked top in theMen and Women categories, as well as in the NewsBusiness & FinanceCars and Tech categories.

SPH Magazines scored three top placings with Men's Health (, women's lifestyle network herworldPLUS 
( and HardwareZone ( besting the competition in the Men'sWomen's and Tech categories respectively.

In the News category, SPH took two out of the three placings – AsiaOne ( was ranked first while The Straits Times' website ( took third place.  

Financial daily The Business Times' website ( was ranked advertisers' preferred website in the  Business & Finance category.

Another category that SPH dominated was the Cars category – sgCarMart ( took first placing while print magazine Torque's website ( by SPH Magazines was placed second. 

Property site STProperty ( was ranked second in the Property category, while online luxury magazine Luxury Insider ( was ranked second in theLuxury category. Young Parents ( came in third in the Parenting category.

In the radio business, SPH Radio Pte Ltd operates entertainment stations UFM 100.3 in Mandarin, as well as Kiss92 and HOT FM91.3 in English. SPH has a 20 per cent stake in MediaCorp TV Holdings Pte Ltd, which operates free-to-air channels 5, 8 and U, and a 40 per cent stake in MediaCorp Press Limited, which publishes the free newspaper, Today.

Events and Out-of-Home Advertising

SPH’s events arm Sphere Exhibits organises innovative consumer and trade events and exhibitions as well as large scale conferences in Singapore and the region. In addition, SPH has ventured into out-of-home (OOH) advertising through its digital out-of-home platform SPHMBO.


SPH REIT is a Singapore-based REIT established to invest in a portfolio of income-producing real estate primarily for retail purposes in Asia-Pacific. SPH REIT is managed by SPH REIT Management Pte Ltd, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of SPH.

The initial portfolio of SPH REIT comprises:

· Paragon, a premier upscale retail mall and medical suite/office property, well known for its upscale mall housing many luxury brands, located in the heart of Orchard Road; and
· The Clementi Mall, a mid-market suburban mall located in the centre of Clementi town, an established residential estate in the west of Singapore.

The Seletar Mall, located in Sengkang, is SPH's latest retail development which opened in November 2014. This property is a potential asset to be injected into SPH REIT. SPH’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Times Development Pte Ltd, also developed a 43-storey upmarket residential condominium, Sky@eleven, at Thomson Road.
