Stomp presents new video series Realife on interesting life stories of individuals

Singapore, 15 March 2016 – Singapore Press Holdings’ citizen journalism website Stomp has launched a new video series Realife, which aims to uncover real stories as told by real people.

From a local breakdancer with a troubled past to a single father who transformed his life and body for his kids to the controversial Steven Lim, Realife explores the struggles people in Singapore face and how they eventually managed to overcome them.

Through the interviewees’ own words, the series lays bare life stories of individuals with interesting experiences or professions.

To date, three webisodes have been produced since Realife was launched in February this year.

Homegrown breakdancer and owner of Recognize Studios

Local breakdancer Felix Huang was convicted in 2013 after a brush with the law. Felix also discusses other difficulties faced, like the stigma attached to people in the arts scene and a career-threatening injury he sustained in 2010. Check out his story at

Yassir Khalid
Operations assistant and fitness coach

Yassir Khalid used to weigh 93kg and was called names like “ah pui” and “hippo” in his younger days. After he was diagnosed with hypertension, he knew he had to make a change. The 37-year-old shares how he managed to lose 13kg in a short span of 10 months and how he turned his life around to become a fitness coach. Find out more about his inspirational journey at

Steven Lim
Entertainer and artiste manager

Steven Lim is a local personality that needs no introduction. The 40-year-old is infamously known for stripping to his underwear in front of national television and producing videos some would describe as distasteful. In this webisode, the quirky individual reveals how all the hate and negative comments directed at him made him cry. Steven Lim also gives Stomp a tour of his house that has been regularly featured in his controversial videos. Take a look at what the “superstar” has to say at: and
