ICON magazine to mark 11th anniversary with whimsical-themed ball

· First and exclusive preview of Damiani’s new Romanov high jewellery collection
· ICON partners socialite and photography enthusiast Rosalynn Tay to capture highlights and moments during the Ball

Singapore, 13 April 2016 – ICON, the leading Chinese luxury lifestyle magazine published by SPH Magazines for today’s affluent and bilingual women, celebrates its 11th anniversary this year.

Over 300 guests comprising A-listers from Singapore’s high society and the ultra well-heeled are set to attend this high-profile and prestigious by-invitation-only event on Thursday, 14 April at Shangri-La Hotel Singapore.

The annual ICON Ball is one of the most anticipated events on Singapore’s social calendar.

Every year, guests look forward to, and wait in anticipation and excitement for ICON’s defined theme for its annual ball.  This year, the theme “An Evening of Wonder and Whimsy” and a call to “Dress in the dress of your dreams” has raised the ante and what is expected is a stunning show of absolutely gorgeous and beautiful gowns.

Twenty ladies will be crowned Best Dressed 2016 by ICON magazine.

ICON, an award-winning luxury lifestyle magazine, features the most coveted in fashion and jewellery and reports on the latest beauty trends. The monthly magazine also profiles international celebrities and Singapore’s most influential and powerful figures.

The ICON ball is held annually to mark each successful year since the magazine was established, together with a yearly special April anniversary edition. Top Chinese actress Sun Li graces the cover of its April issue and an annual curated ICON List spotlights eight influential and well connected women - a timely reminder of the great strides women have achieved in various industries and their continuing contributions to society. Online, a series of stories relating to beauty tips, the latest dresses with whimsical flair and looking glamorous in preparation for the ICON ball have also been freshly generated.

Elsie Yah, Managing Editor of ICON, said: "ICON has always strived to raise the creative bar in content and design. This 11th year, we are proud to have made significant impact on multiple platforms and engaged even further with readers on intimate and insightful levels."

In line with the whimsical theme of the ICON ball, guests can expect to be transported to a magical fairytale – with surprising décor features.

ICON has partnered with socialite Rosalynn Tay who is also a photography enthusiast. Ms Tay has been given an all-access pass in covering the ICON ball. With her behind the lens and as a guest to the ball, she will bring interesting perspectives on moments captured throughout the night. Her photos will be available after the event.

There will be the first and exclusive preview of Damiani’s new Romanov high jewellery collection that was just launched last month at Baselworld. Singapore is the first Asia pit-stop to present the full Romanov collection – Fiocco and Flori d’Arancio. This collection represents the collaboration with Nicoletta Romanoff, Italian actress and the last descendent from Tsar, Russian Royal Imperial Family.

ICON Singapore magazine continues to engage highly affluent ladies on all fronts via print, online, digital and social media, as well as through exclusive and intimate events. Dennis Pua, Managing Director of SPH Magazines, said: “We are extremely grateful for the loyal support ICON has gained over the last 11 years from both readers and advertisers.”

ICON Ball 2016 is supported by Bentley, Damiani, The History of Whoo and Hibiki by Beam Suntory.
