Hospitality Investment Conference Indian Ocean 2016

Singapore, 24 August 2016 – Sphere Conferences, the conference arm of Singapore Press Holdings Limited (SPH), today launched the third edition of the Hospitality Investment Conference Indian Ocean (HICIO) 2016.  The two-day conference will be held from 24-25 August at Hilton Colombo, Sri Lanka.

The conference provides the platform for discussions and debates on the opportunities offered by the growing hospitality and tourism markets in the Indian Ocean (IO) – the Maldives, Mauritius, the Seychelles and Sri Lanka. Over 100 developers, operators and owners of hospitality properties, as well as investors, financiers, designers and technology providers from across the region are expected to attend.

The Guests of Honour are the Hon John Amaratunga, Minister of Tourism Development and Christian Religious Affairs, Sri Lanka and H.E. Hussain Lirar, Deputy Minister, Ministry of Tourism Maldives. They will be sharing their insights on how the government is facilitating investment and tourism development within the respective markets.

Topics which will be discussed include the governments’ initiatives like access and infrastructural developing projects in the pipeline and industry issues:

· Operating in the unique IO – What is the biggest draw…and drawback?
· Investment trends in Sri Lanka & the Maldives – and their relevance to the IO markets  
· Save, spend or splurge? – Hot and trending segments in the IO

HICIO 2016 aims to facilitate dialogues amongst hotel owners, operators and managers, developers, investors and architects at the two-day event.
