Marketing Student is CLEO's Most Eligible Bachelor

Singapore, 19 May 2018 - CLEO Singapore, the best-selling local magazine for young women, crowned 24-year-old marketing student Ng Zi Xuan the winner of CLEO Most Eligible Bachelors 2018. 

In his winning moment, he said: “I’m really surprised because when I first joined, I had zero intention of winning. There are other very eligible Bachelors, and I’m pretty sure most of them are better-looking than me, so I really didn’t expect to win. When they announced my name, I had to double check. I was thinking 'What did they say? Zi Xuan? It's me!' I just didn't expect to win at all." 

Besides the coveted title of CLEO's Most Eligible Bachelor, he also walked away with more than $4,000 worth of prizes. 

The signature annual event for CLEO showcases some of the most talented, successful and charismatic men in Singapore, and remains one of the top highly anticipated events for young women in their twenties. Held at Capital, Zouk, the finals party on the evening of 18 May saw more than 500 people celebrating the event and supporting their favourite bachelors. 

Besides crowning the Most Eligible Bachelor, CLEO also awarded the three subsidiary award winners - 'One to Watch', 'Freshest Face' and 'Modern Man'. 

The winner of the 'One to Watch' award, 26-year-old actor and model, Aaron Mossadeg, said: “I feel a bit surprised, but very happy and proud that I got this award even though there are other bachelors whom I think would go far as well. I’d like to say [my bachelor-like quality] is charm.”

22-year-old student, Kelvin Ho, winner of the 'Freshest Face' award, said: “I think everyone entered this competition without the mentality to win. It’s more for making friends and meeting people around our age or even those older than us with more experience." 

22-year-old yoga instructor Leonard Heng, who won the title of 'Modern Man', said: “It definitely came as a surprise. I didn’t actually think i would win. I put in a lot of effort into the social media posts (which was part of the criteria) because I didn’t want to feel like I didn’t stand a chance. I saw the other bachelors’ photos and they all took some really good shots, but I gave my best anyway.”
