Singapore, 18 July 2018 - This year marks the 15th anniversary of Men’s Health Singapore since it was first published in 2003. The magazine remains Singapore’s No. 1 men’s magazine, covering timely and informative stories, and providing readers with useful information about health and fitness, nutrition, relationships, grooming, and style.
Men’s Health Singapore has grown over the years, with a current readership of 51,000 according to the Nielsen Media Index 2017. The multi-format magazine brand has also evolved beyond the traditional medium of print, expanding into digital and social media. In the last five years, Men’s Health Singapore has produced multimedia content to meet the needs of Singapore’s fitness community today, as well as reach out to an even wider audience all around the world.
In celebration of the 15th anniversary, the August issue features the return of their first-ever cover guy, Allan Wu. The actor/host looks even fitter than he did 15 years ago on the cover of this retro-themed issue, and he will be sharing tips and advice that will appeal to men of all ages and in various stages of life.
“I have been on many covers throughout my career, but Men's Health has and will always be the most prestigious and meaningful,” said Allan. “And for me to still be able to be on the cover fifteen years later is even more meaningful and will hopefully inspire both men and women that we can achieve all of our fitness (and even non-fitness) goals with dedication, determination, and discipline!”
Men’s Health Cover Guy Contest
Along with this celebration, Men’s Health is conducting its first-ever search for the next Men’s Health Cover Guy among its readers, on www.menshealth.com.sg/coverguy, from July 18 till August 31, 2018.
It is on the lookout for someone with the physique and personality that is worthy to join the exalted ranks of previous cover guys like Allan. Recent celebs who've worn the mantle of Men's Health cover guy include Chuando Tan – famed for his buff physique despite being in his 50’s; Ludi Lin, also known as the Black Power Ranger in the recent Hollywood film; and avid runner and star singer Nathan Hartono.
Mr Kelvin Tan, Editor of Men’s Health Singapore, said: "The Men's Health cover guy has always been someone who works just as hard on his body as he does on his character, and both our magazine and website are chock full of 100% useful tips for readers aspiring for the same life-goals. We're always on the hunt for Singaporean men who can exemplify this ethos, and the MH Cover Guy contest is a chance for local lads to put themselves up for a chance to show the results of their efforts to friends and family, as well as share the life and fitness lessons gained on their personal journey."
To all prospective participants, Allan said: “We’re all a little different, so know your own bodies so you can explore what works best in terms of cardio, weights, and dieting right along with some dehydration to look your most lean. It won't be easy to achieve ‘Men's Health cover guy’ shape, but you won't be short on motivation to get out there to sweat it out hard and eat right because everyone will be looking forward to seeing you on the cover! Good luck!”
To participate, readers can simply pop their best shot onto a Men’s Health cover frame provided, and create their very own Men’s Health cover to submit. Their entries will be featured on the contest website for public voting, and the winner is determined by votes and the Men’s Health judging panel. The contest is open to male Singapore residents aged 18 years and above.
Apart from being featured on the cover of Men’s Health, the Cover Guy winner will also walk away with over $6,000 worth of prizes. A total of $20,000 worth of prizes are up for grabs, for contestants and voters alike.
