Singapore, 31 August 2018 – 15 beautiful women will gather tonight at the Grand Ballroom of One Farrer Hotel to vie for the coveted title of Miss Universe® Singapore 2018.
The finalists have undergone intensive training and catwalk sessions and followed strict dietary guidelines in preparation for today.
Miss Universe Singapore 2017, Manuela Blanka Bruntraeger, is no stranger to this. She said: “This year has been a whirlwind of excitement and opportunity. It has been filled with tireless days, effort, love and support. It has opened my eyes to exactly how much hard work goes into being Miss Universe. Presenting the best version of yourself is most important when it’s genuine, respectful and kind. I have grown a lot this year, and I feel that I have been able to take away so much. I am so grateful to have had this opportunity to grow and challenge myself."
Manuela will crown her successor tonight, who will go on to represent Singapore with the same values that she believes in: Positivity and Confidence.
The finalists of Miss Universe Singapore 2018 celebrate women of substance who show examples of excellence and are not afraid to stand up and be advocates for what they believe in.
One of the judges on the panel this year and the finalists’ catwalk coach Wendy Jacobs said: “Working with the contestants has been rewarding. They have put their personality into their walk making every single one of them unique in her own right. The finalists learnt fast and by the second session, they were already giving ideas and asking questions to improve themselves. I can’t wait to see who will be crowned tonight.”
The Miss Universe® Singapore 2018 pageant is organised by The New Paper in partnership with the Miss Universe Singapore Organisation for the third time this year.
It is presented by Dream Cruises, and supported by Official Beauty Partner Beaute Hub, Official Makeup Cosmoprof Academy, Official Venue Sponsor One Farrer Hotel, Official Radio Station ONE FM 91.3; and Supporting Sponsors Apgujeong Hair Studio, Beaute Nails and Orchard Scotts Dental.
