Singapore, 4 March 2019 – The inaugural Product Innovation Excellence (Pie) Awards, which celebrates Singapore Gifts & Premium Fair’s 20^th Anniversary and recognises outstanding local design talents and creativity, is now open for entries. 

The Awards has two main categories, namely Gift Product Design & Packaging and Office Supplies & Stationery Product Design & Packaging.

Judging is based on these four criteria:

• Design, degree of innovation and originality
• Functionality
• Sales potential and commercial viability
• Ecological compatibility

 

Successful design is essential and a unique selling point of gifts and office supplies and stationery. Organisers BizLink Exhibition Services and the Promotional Products and Giftware Association (PPGA) hope to honour products and packaging solutions that are innovative, effective and sustainable.

Singapore registered businesses and students studying in Singapore are invited to submit their entries for the Pie Awards by 25 March 2019.

An expert panel of judges will shortlist outstanding submissions to participate in the competition for the Pie Awards. Product samples and prototypes will then be assessed to select the winners from the shortlist.

Winners will be announced on 10 June 2019, with the Best of Category and Honourable Mention titles to be awarded at the opening ceremony of mega sourcing event, Singapore Gifts & Premium Fair, Office Expo Asia and PrintPack+Sign, on 10 July 2019 at Marina Bay Sands.

The Pie Awards is supported by Design Business Chamber Singapore, Singapore Booksellers and Stationers Association, and Print & Media Association of Singapore.
