2020 Product Innovation Excellence (Pie) Awards now open for entries

Singapore, 9 January 2020 - The Product Innovation Excellence (Pie) Awards, which recognises outstanding local design talents and creativity, is now open for entries.

The Awards now includes five main categories, namely Earth-Friendly, Festive & Occasion, Food & Beverages, Promotional Gift, and Stationery & Office.

Corporate entrants can vie for two new titles – Best of the Year and Outstanding Packaging – and the winners will be revealed on 15 July 2020 during the opening ceremony of mega sourcing event and Singapore’s largest gathering of buyers – Singapore Gifts & Premiums Fair, Office Expo Asia, and PrintPack+Sign at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore.

An expert panel of judges comprising Design Business Chamber Singapore Executive Committee Member, Singapore Manufacturing Federation (Lifestyle Industry Group) Chairman, and Creativeans Pte Ltd Managing Director Kimming Yap; Dean of the School of Art & Design, Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts Sabrina Long; Founder and Design Consultant of Orient Design Jackie Tan as well as Country Manager of Kings (SG) International Pte Ltd Andrew Li will shortlist outstanding submissions. Product samples and prototypes will then be assessed to select the winners from the shortlist.

Judging is based on these three criteria:

·         Design, degree of innovation and originality

·         Functionality

·         Sales potential and commercial viability

Singapore-registered businesses and students studying in Singapore are invited to submit their entries for the Pie Awards by 3 April 2020.

The Pie Awards is jointly organised by Sphere Exhibits Pte Ltd (a subsidiary of Singapore Press Holdings) and the Promotional Products and Giftware Association of Singapore. It is supported by Design Business Chamber Singapore, Singapore Booksellers and Stationers Association, and Print & Media Association of Singapore.
