Singapore, 30 May 2007 - If you think you are a walking bus
guide or street directory and are familiar with all the nooks and crannies in
Singapore, then “Buzz My Day” is the ultimate local adventure for you!
Organised by Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) Buzz and SPH UnionWorks in
conjunction with SBS Transit as part of its annual Thank You Commuters Day,
“Buzz My Day” is a one-day event which will pit teams against each other to get
to the stipulated checkpoints within the shortest time possible. All travel is
to be done on SBS Transit buses or North East Line trains.
To be held on Saturday, 23 June 2007, participants can also make use of the
WI-FI location-based and digital info services available at selected Buzz Pods
to gather clues to complete the race.
Attractive prizes worth up to $20,000 await the winners of the race. Winning
teams can also look forward to a year of free bus rides on SBS Transit´s buses,
Fortis watches and more.
To participate, members of the public can form teams of no more than four
participants.
Registration started on 28 May and fees are chargeable at S$15 per team.
Registration form can be downloaded from either www.radio913.com or
www.sbstransit.com.sg. They are also available from the Buzz Pods and Buzz
kiosks located at SingPost Centre, Hougang Point, Jurong East, Marine Parade and
Heeren. Parental consent is required for participants under 21 years old.
Upon registration, each person will receive a survival kit worth over $30
containing a T-shirt, TransitLink guide book and products from sponsors such as
Mr Bean, Pepsi, Thai Accent and The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, to help see them
through the race. Registration closes on 16 June where 1,000 participants are
expected.
