Understanding the Rich and How You Can Be One Too

Singapore, 19 June 2007 - “Think and Grow Rich”. This will be the theme for the fifth Berita Harian Financial Planning Conference to be held on July 15, 2007, Sunday, at the Raffles City Convention Centre from 8.30am – 6.00pm.

Organised by Berita Harian, SSA Consulting Group is the co-organiser and Maybank is the Sponsor of this event for the fifth year running. Dr Yaacob Ibrahim, Minister for the Environment and Water Resources, and Minister-in-charge of Muslim Affairs, will be the Guest-of-Honour.

From this conference, participants will be able to gain insights on how to determine their current financial status and based on their individual risk appetites, the recommended investment products to fulfil one´s financial objectives.

Founder of Napolean Hill Associates, Ms Christina Chia will share the insights of Dr Napolean Hill, author of the all time bestseller in the field, "Think and Grow Rich". Ms Chia will focus on the attributes of the rich and successful people in the world, based on Dr Hill’s writing.

Besides Ms Christina Chia, Dr Irfan Khairi, a Malaysian self-made millionaire, who made his first million at the age of 25 selling products and services which he developed himself, will be another of the key speakers in the line-up. Before he started his own Internet business, he was already working in Netmedia (UK) Ltd – one of the largest IT companies in Birmingham as a multimedia consultant and system developer. He was also part of the team that created the Learning Grid, an Internet learning system that is being implemented by over 5,000 schools across UK.

He will share the secrets of Internet millionaires and provide tips from his book “Rahsia Jutawan Internet” (Secrets of Internet Millionaires) at the conference.

Another self-made millionaire by the age of 26, who will share his experiences and provide strategies to massively increase one´s income, is Mr Adam Khoo. He is an entrepreneur, a best-selling author and a peak performance trainer. He is currently the CEO of Adcom Pte Ltd, an advertising agency, the co-founder of Event Gurus Pte Ltd, an event management company, and the CEO of Adam Khoo Learning Technologies Group Pte Ltd. His three businesses have combined annual sales of $20m.

His book – “I am Gifted, So Are You” was ranked #1 bestseller in 1998 and 1999 while his other book ‘Master Your Mind, Design Your Destiny´ was on the best-sellers list for 36 consecutive weeks! His latest book “The Secrets of Self-Made Millionaires” is currently the number 1 bestseller in Singapore.

In addition, participants will also be able to derive valuable insights from a workshop session conducted by Mr Marc Leong (Vice-President, Direct Banking Channel, Consumer Banking) of Maybank, who will focus on “How Far Are You From Being Rich?” . Topics covered will include learning how to do a financial assessment of one´s current financial status and a description of the different risk appetites.
