28 September 2007, Singapore - On 29 September (Saturday), come on down to Orchard Road and witness the omy street march. Thirty models dressed in omy attire will be parading down the street from 2pm to 7pm, as part of the fringe activity for the launch of omy.sg – Singapore’s first bilingual web portal.
Members
of the public are invited to take pictures of these omy models and MMS
them to 75858. The top five photo entries will win a digital camera
each. The number 75858 is omy’s SMS hotline for users to send their
news lead or photos to.
Launched on 25 September, omy.sg
is the latest news media venture by leading media group Singapore Press
Holdings (SPH). The bilingual news and interactive portal, while
providing the latest news and infotainment for web-savvy users, also
allows them to generate news content by becoming citizen journalists.
Ms Lee Kuan Fung, the interactive editor of omy, says, "We hope to increase public involvement with omy.sg through such activities as everyone can be involved in creating the news".

Lips in Sync 嘴星一族
- Users are invited to send in their own lip-sync videos to omy’s
Showtime section. Weekly winners who are selected will each win a mp3
player. The grand winner, determined by votes from
omyusers, stand to walk away with the grand prize - a laptop.
Public Launch Event at VivoCity - A full-day event will be held on 6 October for the public to experience the fun and excitement of
omyand to meet the
omyteam. More details will be announced closer to the event.
