- For its contribution to the Singapore arts scene, Singapore Press
Holdings is named Distinguished Patron of the Arts at the Patron of the
Arts Award 2007.
The awards will be presented by Dr Lee Boon Yang, Minister for
Information, Communications & the Arts this evening at the
Esplanade Theatre at 6pm.
This is the 15th consecutive year SPH is honoured with the
Distinguished Patron of the Arts Award given by the National Arts
Council. SPH’s major arts sponsorships for last year include the SPH
Gift of Music series, Singapore River Hong Bao and the Chinese Cultural
Festival.
On the same note, SPH Foundation will be receiving the Friends of the
Arts award. The Foundation, which was set up in 2003, has sponsored the
Story Challenge by The Theatre Practice and Drama of History by the
National Museum in 2006, among others. This is the third time the
Foundation is recognised at the awards. It received the Friends of the
Arts award in 2005 and Patron of the Arts award in 2006 respectively.

UnionWorks Pte Ltd, which operates entertainment stations Radio 100.3
FM in Mandarin and Radio 91.3 FM in English.
Outdoor Advertising
In addition, SPH has ventured into outdoor advertising through its
wholly-owned subsidiary, SPH MediaBoxOffice Pte Ltd, Singapore´s
largest outdoor motion display advertising network media company, and a
35 percent stake in TOM Outdoor Media Group, a leading outdoor
advertising company in China.
Properties
SPH owns and manages Paragon, the prime retail and office complex in
the heart of Orchard Road, Singapore’s main shopping belt. SPH’s
wholly-owned subsidiary, Times Development Pte Ltd, is also developing
a 43-storey upmarket residential condominium, Sky@eleven, at Thomson
Road.
