Shopping perks and Christmas festivities at Paragon

Singapore, November 30, 2007 - In line with the year-end season of giving and celebration, Paragon offers shoppers a host of enchanting activities and perks ranging from shopping vouchers, charity toys, lucky draw prizes and fun events for children.

Owned by Orchard 290, a subsidiary of Singapore Press Holdings Ltd (SPH), the premier shopping mall in Orchard Road is also whimsically decked out with 18,000 pieces of decorative ornaments and strands of pearls that would stretch for about 5km if placed together.

Hung at both atriums of Paragon are elegantly sculptured winch decorations while festive swags decorated with intricate ornaments and strands of pearls festoon all the internal walkways and also around the building.

Ms Ina Se, Advertising & Promotions Manager of Paragon, said: "Paragon’s signature 40ft Christmas tree has been an iconic highlight over the years and is a good photo opportunity for locals and tourists. In keeping with the season of giving, shoppers can also do their bit for charity by donating $20 at Paragon’s Charity Toy House. In return, they will receive a token gift of their choice. All nett proceeds will be donated to The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund."

Festive decorations

To create its vision of "A Whimsical Christmas", Paragon has incorporated elements of Victorian, Renaissance and Neo-classic styles as well as modern motifs/filigrees into its festive decorations this year. In keeping with sophisticated tradition, silver and gold were chosen for the colours of the ornaments.

Costing $400,000 to produce and put them up, the Christmas decorations were designed by modernAge Design & Communications Pte Ltd. Paragon’s iconic 40-ft Christmas Tree is up again this year, dazzling near the Orchard Road entrance to Paragon in front of Tod’s and Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gauche boutiques. Popular with local shutterbugs and tourists alike, the signature tree will be displayed till January 2, 2008.
