Singapore, 17 May 2010 -- Can't make up your mind about where to eat? Now, all you need to do is shake your iPhone a few times. The iPhone application of premier food website, AsiaOne's SoShiok.com, will throw up random dining recommendations for you.
This fun feature is just one of the many functions in the iPhone application launched by SoShiok.com, Singapore’s No. 1 food and wine website.
SoShiok.com is part of AsiaOne, the Internet portal of Singapore Press Holdings (SPH).
With the application, you can also read food reviews written by SPH's authoritative food critics, locate food outlets and share food reviews with others.
The search function of the iPhone application enables readers to locate eateries by specific names, or find those within the vicinity of their physical location.
For those who prefer to cook, there is also a recipe reference section complete with the list of ingredients that you can conveniently refer to while shopping.
The application makes it easy for people to submit their restaurant recommendations and pictures to the SoShiok.com website or to share them with friends and foodies via email, Facebook and Twitter.
Ms Chen Jingwen, Editor of SoShiok.com, said: “With the SoShiok.com iPhone application, our readers will be able to access and share our content with others whenever and wherever they are, providing them with an enhanced user experience.”
In celebration of the launch of its new iPhone application as well as SoShiok.com's second anniversary, it is partnering Royal Plaza on Scotts to offer a high-tea buffet for two worth $90 at the award-winning restaurant, Carousel, each week for four weeks starting 20 May.
To participate, all readers need to do is to take a photo of their favourite buffet dish at Carousel and send it together with a short write-up of minimum 20 words to say why that is their favourite dish, via the SoShiok.com iPhone application.
Visit www.soshiok.com for more information about the features of the iPhone application and details of the contest. The application can be downloaded free of charge from the iPhone’s application store.
