Power up your gaming experience at Licence2Play!

Singapore, 21 May 2010 – Licence2Play (L2P), the much-anticipated gaming event, is back! Organised by Sphere Exhibits Pte Ltd (Sphere), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Singapore Press Holdings (SPH), the event will be held from 28 to 30 May 2010 at the Singapore Expo Hall 6B.

The three-day event offers the latest gaming innovations and products for both hardcore and recreational gamers. Visitors can look forward to mass gaming competitions, stage programmes, game demonstrations and great bargains for gaming PCs, laptops and accessories. Occupying more than 5,000sqm of exhibition space, L2P brings together for the first time two local game publishing giants – IAHGames Pte Ltd and Asiasoft Corporation Pte Ltd, that brought us gaming titles such as Maple Story, Counter-Strike and Blizzard - as well as game distributors and electronics retailers under one roof. New Game launches

Infocomm Asia Holdings (IAH) and Asiasoft Online (ASO) will be releasing their latest games titles at L2P. Counter-Strike Online now comes with new massively multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPG) elements such as character levelling and leaderboard rankings.

Visitors can try their hands on the newly-launched “Requiem: Alive” game on Asiasoft’s @Global Games platform. Touted as the bloodiest MMORPG ever made, Requiem:Alive offers an endless string of intriguing quests and fights as players transform into ferocious beasts to battle with other players. With large amounts of gore and blood spill expected, it is not a game for the faint hearted.

Game Title Showcases

IAH’s One Asia Gaming competition sees participants from Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam compete on the EA SPORTS™ FIFA Online 2 Showcase and promotion, based on the upcoming World Cup 2010 in South Africa.

Avid gamers can look forward to the Animal Kaiser Challenge, the popular Arcade Card battle game. Players stand a chance to win the complete collection of Animal Kaiser Version 3 cards.

Fans of IAH’s staple games - Granado Espada and Dragonica – can obtain new patch releases that will take the games to new playing levels. Rare in-game items from the 2 games will also be auctioned at L2P for a good cause. All proceeds from the auction will go to the Association for Persons with Special Needs (APSN).

Toy Carnival @ Licence2Play & Movie Mania showcase

This year’s Toy Carnival features12 exhibitors selling the latest toys, comics, cards & and collectibles from the latest anime & movies from popular brands Bandai, Takara Tomy, Hot Toys, Enterbay, Sideshow & DID. It is organised by Falcon’s Hanger, a diversified wholesaler/retailer serving local and overseas toy collectors via various retail and web-based channels.

Movie Mania will showcase its highly detailed movie costumes of iconic superheroes and super villains. Popular movie characters will interact and mingle with the crowd at Licence2Play. Expect a visual feast with the Movie Mania showcase on stage as it brings to life scenes from memorable movies such as Predators, Nightmare on Elm Street and Terminators vs. Resistance.

Other programme showcases

Gesture-based interaction games with XYZ Wave Pte Ltd
XYZ Wave Pte Ltd leverages on the creative application of 3-D gesture recognition, augmented reality and video gaming technologies to design and deliver immersive user experience in the games it creates. At L2P, it will showcase its two latest casual game collaborations in promotion of family gaming fun and entertainment – “Let’s Recycle” and “Project GGGoal”.

Game2Read: “Play the game, Read the book!”
What better way to indulge in the fantastical world of gaming than to find out more by reading its books? Helmed by National Library Board, its “Game2Read” booth allows gaming enthusiasts to pick up titles of their favourite games like World of Warcraft, Halo and Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell and more. Gaming related books, magazines and game software will be on display and available for loan by visitors.

Lenovo Laptops – For Work and especially for Play
Lenovo and Intel are collaborating for the first time to showcase the Y550P at Licence2Play. The IdeaPad Y550P runs on the latest Intel Core i5 processor as the choice notebook for today’s mainstream gamers.

Lenovo’s IdeaPad Y550P is the official gaming laptop used in Licence2Play’s TNP Cyberchallenge area and at the IAH Games booth.

This is also the first time consumers can experience a full-fledged 3D gaming experience at an electronics and gaming fair.
