Licence 2Play returns for its second year

Over 10,000 visitors within first hour of opening

Singapore, 28 May 2010 – Licence2Play (L2P), the much-anticipated gaming event by Sphere Exhibits, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) opened its doors at 11am this morning, with thousands of gamers and bargain hunters queuing at the entrances to the Singapore Expo Hall 6B from as early as 7am.

A perfect start to the school holidays for 15-year old student Ryan Tan, who said. “I have been queuing up since 8am this morning so that I can be one of the first to get my hands on the long-awaited StarCraft® II to kick start my new gaming adventure this school holidays.”

This year’s L2P promises a bold, exciting visual and playing experience for visitors and gamers alike, with thematic booths from IAHGames Pte Ltd, Asiasoft Corporation Pte Ltd, Lenovo, Seagate and Samsung showcasing their latest gaming titles and products and accessories.

Spanning 5,000sqm this year, the three-day event brings to visitors the latest gaming innovations and products for both hardcore and recreational gamers. Visitors can look forward to mass gaming competitions, stage programmes, game demonstrations and great bargains for gaming PCs, laptops and accessories. This is also the first time that Lenovo and Intel are in collaboration in such a big scale at a local gaming event - All the laptops used for the gaming competitions and demonstrations at L2P are provided by Lenovo, and powered by Intel.

Bargain hunters were in for a steal with the Wholesale Electronics Fair offering lowest wholesale prices for major electronics brands with branded net-books going from as low as $379 all with a free LG handphone worth $199, and digital cameras from $69.

Licence 2Play is held at the Singapore Expo Hall 6B from 28 to 30 May 2010 and is opened daily from 11am – 9pm. Admission is free .
